poetry 101 rehab: home

“the ache for home lives in all of us the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned” ― maya angelou,
“the ache for home lives in all of us
the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned”
― maya angelou
ever hear about the one who was always alone?
how he tried as much as he could to atone
                how he woke in fright
                looked round for the light
and realised at last that being alone was being at home

poetry 101 rehab: thaw

AJT_3722

like an iceberg, broken away

i drift, dwindle, diminish

current taking me away

others float, others diminish

my path uncharted

where will i finish

will it ever end, or just diminish

fade away, or, as it started

end, in

collision

why’re

why're we here?
why’re we here?

Sitting up, his eyes

excoriated by

the searing light,

he remembered

more.

A shout, just before he tripped, the barking, of

his dog.

And now,

now,

he was trapped, tied,

as tightly, as if by

wire.

(my third of five posts in response to a very kind nomination for the “five photos / five stories black and white challenge” from desleyjane and for the “black and white challenge” from albert

(and inspired by a dreadful awakening and by a walk on the edge of town)

(oh, and as my third nomination, I’d like to invite john, if he feels so inclined, to share with you his perspective on scotland and india through five black and white images and stories…)

poetry 101 rehab: habit

There was once a grumpy old blogger called Andy

Who thought his photos quite handy

He tried his hand at writing

Struggled with the lighting

And developed a habit by Mond’y.
