the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned”
― maya angelou
ever hear about the one who was always alone?
how he tried as much as he could to atone
how he woke in fright
looked round for the light
and realised at last that being alone was being at home
(for mara’s poetry 101 rehab – home)
beautiful

An impressive poem – and haunting, as usual! I do like it that you do poetry readings now too! ❤

Thank you and I’m glad that the sound of my reading does not detract from the experience too much 😉

Reading your poem I want nothing more than to break down crying and thank heavens for the home and family I got.
And to wish for every lonely soul out there to have someone caring for them…
Your writing is so emotional I can’t believe it…
# here’s a mental hug for you…

Hold on to what you have, and don’t let go.
And thank you, your comment means a lot and is much appreciated.

Beautiful poem! It’s sad but also strong. We all want somewhere to belong but, as someone who really enjoys her alone time and ungrounded mostly, self-awareness is really good. So mixed feelings in a good way 🙂

Thank you! I guess if we are not “at home” with ourself we will never be “at home” anywhere…

this is what finding inner peace means maybe?
beautiful poem, Andy…
its an interesting image to pair it with… especially the shift from focus to blur… one would expect you start with a blur to get a clear vision in the end… but then that man is still searching for the light I guess… we never stop searching for it…

Thank you! Yes, the search can go on for ever. And the photo had a personal significance that probably makes little sense to the reader…
