on trust not in lust
let go, allow it to flow
on with life, not with strife
many times before, he swore
often, on the day, gave way
until, he became still, not ill
can it be, that here, there is no fear?
(a story of trust in the form of an acrostic with some internal rhyme for day three of Writing 201)
(and for lucile’s the clinic – photo rehab)
*shot with nikon d700, 50mm f1.4 nikkor lens, edited in aperture 3, silver efex pro2 with filter 024 full contrast and structure applied, laughter, swings and icy chains involved*

wow you did so well getting the double rhyming in all the way through i only managed it once. I love the words, tells a story of hope and the photo well how did you do this, the swing so clear, everything else blurred? I know I am asking silly questions, just admire your work x

Thank you so much Justine! I shot the photo with wide aperture so that the swing was in focus in the original shot. I then edited it in Silve Efex Pro 2 to give it a black and white look. The blur was caused by the tight depth of field which resulted from the wide aperture.

these are still things i need to learn. I really havn’t got my new camera out which i feel so bad about, too nervous. I would really like a proper lesson with someone actually with me to show me the ropes, I need to find someone who is in the know hehe x

Always happy to try and help out from afar, there are no silly questions. And the great thing about digital is that you can practice . To get a photo like the swing you need to set the aperture to a low number eg f/2 say rather than f/16 . This then means the focus is very tight meaning everything gets blurred other than your “target”. One thing to watch though is that the shutter speed can be longer so there is a risk of camera shake…so need to support camera carefully…

oh i have terrible issues with the camera shaking, still trying to work ways out to be steady. If only you lived in the UK…you could come help me hehe x

Keep shutter speed at least higher than 1 / focal length of lens, don’t breath when you take shot….etc 🙂

I don’t know Andy. A bit too light and carefree for you? I am waiting for that chain to snap and….Oh! No more safe haven. 😉

I’m hoping that chain will hold… In the meantime, I’m sure I will find something dark to write about again…
