Do you miss the Writing 201 Poetry course by the Daily Post? If so, then join this blogging challenge and let the poetry flow!
How does it work?
Feel free to answer the prompt, twist it or ignore it; write a poem of your own or share a poem by another author. Write about your inspiration, your creative process or other poetry related thoughts, but this is in no way obligatory. Nothing is obligatory in this challenge. The idea is to get together, talk poetry and have fun!
How can you take part?
Anyone can take part, anytime you want. Publish your poetry post and add a link to it by clicking on the Poetry 101 Rehab badge below or share your link in a comment. Use the tag Poetry 101 Rehab, so we can find each other in the Reader.
I will act as your host, and I’ll be here for you to reply to your comments, read your poetry, like and comment. While this post is the starting point for the challenge, do visit fellow poets in the link-up and chat to them on their blogs!
This week’s prompt is TALK.
talk
talk to me
talk to me about it
don’t talk
don’t talk to me
don’t talk to me about it
maybe
maybe there is
maybe there is, no point
in talking
about it
or, maybe there is
after, all
My starter for ten, entitled TALK was inspired by not being able to, but wanting to. What will your take on the keyword TALK be? Blog about it in a poetry post and share your link in the comments section of this post and by clicking on the Poetry 101 Badge above.
I like it when I can mesh prompts… Anyway there might be light at the end of my tunnel…

The x-ray/shroud of Turin skull makes a haunting backdrop for your talk on talk. I enjoyed the structure and build up of possibilities. Always a high bar to meet at Poetry Rehab 101.
“Gorgeously frightening image,” she gasped. “Words strikingly stripped to base,” she added.

Thank you, the image was actually some graffiti I saw on a wall leading to an underpass, but the likeness to the shroud is there isn’t it. And thank you for appreciating the rehab, delighted you can join in.

Oh gosh–great prompt…I could probably talk everyone to death on the subject….may we use your photo (properly credited) with our poem? I have an optional one I can use.

I love the prompt and your take on it Andy.
The first idea that found its way into my head was a memory which I just scribbled down hastily. Although it didn’t take me long and I didn’t think about it twice I am satisfied nonetheless. It felt good to just write it down this way.

Hey. Here’s my offering, something I think about at least once a day: https://tuckedintoacorner.wordpress.com/2015/10/27/poetry-101-rehab-talk/
I like your poem, Andy, as others have said the contradictory nature is appealing. I feel like it suits human nature quite well 🙂

Thank you, human nature is so contradictory at times, the thing is to see the continuum, not the precise moment perhaps… I also like your poem, very accurate observation…

Together: http://wp.me/p5BCD4-f9 – rather a prose poem than verse. Talking and listening–making time for conversation, discussions, sharing–isn’t just the focus of relationship. It’s also marvelously fun, mutually supportive, and … what maintains one’s sense of proportion, even in the midst of crisis and profound grief.

A very heartwarming and true observation Liz about the importance 0f communication and listening in a relationship…
