snow floated down every once in a while, but it was frail snow, like a memory fading into the distance
― haruki murakami
This is my first prompt for poetry | 101 | rehab since the WordPress Writing 101: Poetry course came to a close and I look forward to welcoming some new contributors!
My prompt this week is an attempt at a seasonal haiku. So, this week, express your feelings about the season, in haiku if it moves you, in some other way if not. What does this time of the year mean to you? Do you rejoice and hark the herald angels, do you eschew the commercial queue? Whatever your religion, your politics, your sensibilities, write a poem to describe what this time means to you.
Wrapped, packets with love
So late, the world turned
Paper cut

It’s my pleasure, Andy. I am still trying to copy and place the badge on my site. It seems difficult to do.

It’s still a great poem form not withstanding. Nice and compact. Something I struggle with.

there is something so deeply satisfying about this little gem – in many ways … and I can’t find the right words to say exactly why – but I love it!

Nice to have Poetry Rehab 101 for Monday morning coffee.
Wrapping is a fantastic prompt! So much can be “wrapped” this time of the year.
Wishing you all the best of this special season, and may 2016 be a poem.

Here is my link to a poem I wrote a while ago but I think expresses my feelings well with regard to the season: https://noos2mee2.wordpress.com/2013/04/17/ghosts-of-christmas-past/

I am a twit at copy/pasting badges. So I don’t. I’m still learning photo stuff. I tried some photo stuff in one program and tried without success to get it into another program. Arg. They speak a language I have yet to interpret.
Anyway… I’m working on a new BeeBee… I add that link in a few…Maybe even a haiku too.

The form is called an ‘Eflje’
You can find more about the form on my friend’s place here:

Wording is everything 😉
So many traditions. Father Christmas, St. Nick. Santa… I think in Italy they believe it is an old lady called Befana who gives gifts.

I just realized that another of my poems (a trio of haiku) fits the theme, as far as gifts (and the wrapping thererof).
Exile Christmases: http://wp.me/p5BCD4-kY – different families have different customs, and sometimes family members are not in on the morphing of customs over the generations.

I have written something for every rehab but I just haven’t had the time to post everything yet…
It’s weird how sometimes the days seem to be so much shorter than they really are, isn’t it? Someone knows that problem?
Anyways,… here’s my response to this rehab.
