“if you’ve not been loved as a child, you don’t know how to love a child”
― jane gardam, old filth
(laeken cemetery, brussel)
i wasn’t
(or, didn’t feel so)
but,
i do
that’s (extra)ordinary
and, worth
telling?
(for DP weekly photo challenge – (extra)ordinary and lucile’s photo 101 rehab)
*shot with nikon d700 and nikkor 16-35mm f/4 lens at ISO280, 35mm, 1/125s and f/4 and edited in lightroom cc and analog efex pro 2, rehab under way (again)*
It’s so beautiful, Andy, that brought tears to my eyes. It is worth telling and thanks for sharing it with us.

There is a time for all things, and I had a tear in my eye when I wrote this, and hope, rekindled.

Hope never dies, not when one’s child is the focus, never.

Very moving, indeed, Andy–how beautiful, that you defied the quote and some studies on the sad topic.

I think some of life lessons can be learned by negative example. Being left out, can make one empathetic in extra-ordinary ways when it comes to sharing love.
And that by example is proven by my own children and grandchildren. So perhaps Jane Gardam had a different experience.

I think we all have our different experiences, for me having empathy for the pain of others is part of what makes us human…
